5 Reasons to Consider a Rental Photography Studio

“What’s wrong with shooting outdoors?” Nothing is wrong with taking your clients (or products!) outside for a shoot, but there are quite a few perks that make having access to an indoor studio worth your dollars. Both outdoor and indoor sessions have their benefits and their drawbacks, which are important to consider when contemplating taking that extra step and renting your first photography studio session.

Here are our top reasons to consider renting a Wynwood photography studio for your growing business:

1.    Control

One of the biggest benefits that come along with renting a creative room is the element of control. Things that are uncontrollable when shooting outdoors are no longer an issue. Will the sun just not cooperate, or does the wind keep blowing your client’s hair all around? Is the sun reflecting weird shadows off of your product? All these things are easily controlled indoors.

Also, when shooting outside time may be a factor when the light changes but when shooting in a controlled environment, your shots can stay consistent for as long as needed. The temperature in a studio can also be controlled which makes shooting in the summer months more comfortable.

2.    Avoiding Extra Costs

Being an independent photographer has its perks, but one of the potential drawbacks is the costs of permits that are sometimes required to take professional photos at different locations. Taking these photos without a permit is called guerrilla shooting and there may even be hefty fines in some places. Acquiring permits can take time but renting a creative studio in Wynwood can be a quick, smooth process.

3.    Convenience

No one wants to have to carry a carload full of lighting equipment and backdrops to every photo session, it is just not manageable. You find yourself picking and choosing between pieces of equipment and worrying that your more expensive pieces could get scratched up or broken being toted back and forth. With a creative studio, you would have the convenience and the security that you do not get shooting outside consistently. Not to mention the aspect of customization and originality that you can bring to a session when you have all your backdrops and lighting equipment right there with you.

4.    Reshooting

Picture this, you may have a photo session that just does not turn out how you imagined it. You then decide to reshoot some of your shots, but you took your photos outside and now you must check the weather for conditions that are similar enough to the day you shot the previous session so that they match with the photos that you are not reshooting. You also shot in a public location, so you must make sure that there are no events planned for this day. If you rented a photo studio in Wynwood you would again have complete control of the session, making the reshoot as easy as resetting and taking your shots.

5.    Comfort

Not only is having a rental studio more convenient, but it can also create a sense of comfort that you, your crew members, and your clients just cannot get outside. In a studio, you might have access to things like a kitchen or kitchenette, washrooms, and changing areas. Many studios can be located near restaurants or cafés that make taking breaks and grabbing food or drinks much more available.

I am not sure anyone enjoys mosquito bites or having ants crawl on them while they are trying to lay on the ground to grab that perfect shot. Indoor studios are a great way to avoid dealing with outdoor pests and as stated previously can offer protection from harsh weather as the temperature inside a studio can be controlled.
