What Your Work Style Says About You

There are four types of work styles: logical, supportive, detail-oriented, and idea-oriented. Insight into these work styles can help you in your day-to-day work life, along with how you work in the context of a larger team. Remember as you’re reading through and identifying with a style that you can have more than one working style.

What is a working style? And how do you find yours?

Working styles are how you work! It is how you prefer to organize and do your work throughout the day. And it can be easy to find out your working style. There are multiple personality quizzes that can help. However knowing your Myers-Briggs Type Index, or taking the Revised NEO Personality Inventory or the Winslow Personality Profile can help you narrow down your work style.

 Logical

If you have a logical work style, you are more likely to analyze and take a problem by the horns. You like data and thrive in challenging environments or projects. Logical workers often can focus incredibly well and concentrate on the work in front of them.

Supportive

Every workplace needs a good support structure. And often that comes in the form of amazingly supportive people. If you think you have this work style, you are likely to be the one bridging gaps between people and thriving in a collaborative environment.

Detail-Oriented

Detail-oriented workers are those that prefer a sense of order, and usually are the stabilizer in team settings. If you are detail-oriented, you probably like doing thorough research on something before continuing, and approaching things in sequential order.

Idea-Oriented

If you are idea-oriented, you think big picture and are considered to be the visionary in the workplace. Not to mention, you don’t mind a little risk and persevering through obstacles.
